Meanwhile, the Doctor, Eve, and Durkas focus on gaining manual control of the ship. While Yasmin and Ronan defend the ship's power source from the Pting, Ryan and Graham offer to help Mabli with Yoss as he enters labour. Learning that the ship will be remotely detonated if the space-station detects the creature aboard, the Doctor works to prevent this happening. Helped by Mabli, Astos' colleague, the Doctor learns that the entity is a Pting, a creature that eats non-organic material and is classed as highly dangerous. Astos becomes trapped in one that he is inspecting, and dies when the pod is jettisoned into space and explodes.
They realise it is an alien entity, which gains access to the ship and starts damaging its escape pods. After gaining access to the ship's systems, the Doctor, alongside head nurse Astos, notice something heading for the ship. Exploring the ship, the Doctor meets some of the patients being transported – Eve Cicero, a renowned general her brother Durkas Eve's synth robot partner Ronan and Yoss, a pregnant man. They wake aboard the Tsuranga, an automated ship travelling to a medical space-station. While scavenging on an alien junkyard planet, the Thirteenth Doctor, and her companions, Graham, Yasmin, and Ryan are caught in a sonic mine's detonation.
The episode was watched by 7.76 million viewers, and was met with mixed reviews from critics. The episode guest stars Brett Goldstein, Lois Chimimba, Suzanne Packer, Ben Bailey-Smith, David Shields, and Jack Shalloo. In the episode, alien time traveller the Doctor ( Jodie Whittaker) and her companions – Graham O'Brien ( Bradley Walsh), Ryan Sinclair ( Tosin Cole), and Yasmin Khan ( Mandip Gill) – are brought aboard a medical ship to recover from injuries they recently endured, only to find themselves dealing with a dangerous alien creature that threatens the ship and those being transported by it. " The Tsuranga Conundrum" is the fifth episode of the eleventh series of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who. She loves painting using acrylic on canvas, mixed media, digital painting, tapestry, and she also creates electronic music (synthesizer / keyboard / piano) inspired by retro video games and the synthwave genre.List of Doctor Who episodes (2005–present) Suzanne is also a published digital artist and poet, has worked as a graphic designer, and pioneered a technique for creating art using a quantum computer. She has worked with hardware at all scales, from microscopic devices up to large, heavy-duty industrial machinery. The role focused on cutting edge research with superconducting devices at ultra-low temperatures, giving her a wealth of experience in the design, fabrication and debugging of complex hardware systems. Prior to joining D-Wave, Suzanne worked at the University of Birmingham, UK, where she earned a PhD in Physics and Electronics and subsequently undertook a postdoctoral role. She designed, coded and ran the company’s Developer Portal and the company website. She led the quantum computing training programs for Lockheed Martin, Google and NASA. Her work has been published in several scientific peer reviewed journals, including Nature magazine, and she holds five patents. She also worked on the world’s first supervised binary classifier run on a quantum computer. In this role she invented and coded most of the use cases D-Wave produced in the period 2011-2013, including MAXCAT, the world’s first quantum computer game, and the world’s first control of a robot by a quantum computer. In 2011, Suzanne joined D-Wave’s machine learning group. Suzanne also worked for D-Wave, a Canadian company pioneering quantum computing technology.
